A set of topers were carousing in the Old Boar, and relieved the monotony by cracking jokes and tilling funny stories. After an interval of rest one of their mamber sprang to bis f eet and shouted: 'Til give ten bottles of wine to the man who shall most closely imítate the voice of any animal." The offer was accepted, and there was a neighing, a croaking, a grunting, a quacking, a bowling and a growling fit to deafen the hearers. The last man then stood in the ring, and - did nothing. After five minutes' silence he perceived thathis companions were growing impatient, when he quietly remarked: "There, gentlemen, that was the voice of a iish!" General hilarity. He won the wine.
