Walter G. Dunham, a '95 dent, was testing forchromium, Wednesday afternoon, in qualitative analysis, at the chemical laboratory. The testtube exploded and the chemical and pieces of glass struck Mr. Dunham in the left eye. It is considered that there is little chance of saving the organ. The explosión occurred when alcohol was added to the hydrochloric acid. The doctor stated yesterday morning that only the superficial part of the cornea had been burned off and it will grow out again.
