"Tl STORE" 1893. Last week closed another year of the business career of "The Store." Another year of business experience has been added to our life, the result has been rednced to figures and the measure of our success is known to us. So much bas been said arnong business classes regarding the methods we have adopted for extending our business; so many predictions have been made that ''The Store" cannot keep on selling goods as they have for the past couple of years; we consider this a proper occasion to outline. as far as possible, our policy for the coming year. By many it bas been considered impossible for any house to do business on the low margin of profit we have placed on our merchandise and that having been fully convinced of the fütility of our efforts we would relapse into the bid style of doing business, content to accept small sales and largo profits instead of the reverse. This we are not prepared to do. We are not discouraged by the results of our year's business, but on the contrary, are laying our plans for a more aggressive business campaign than ever before. It will not bc unwelcome new to the purchasing public when we say that instead of making an advance on the pri'ce of our goods as prophesied, we will, whenever possible, make further concessions to the trade. Being in a position to take every advantage of the marketj snapping up bargains whenever they appear, we will let po occasion pass to increase our trade by offering inducements impossible to obtain elsewhere. The recent a:dvance in cotton goods has found our store room full of all kinds of domestics and the old prices prevail while they last. It is rather early to talk about New Spring Dress Goods, but an opportunity came to us in the way of a concern who wanted spot cash and we pnrchased several large lines at less than cost of importation. These goods are now on sale, among which, as of special value, we cali attention to a line of Crepons, in all shades and colors; they are a fine all wool fabric and have been sold for 75 cents to $1.00. Our price on them is 50 cents. Another bargain we are offering is a line of Diagonal Whip Cords, such as you have been paying 75 cents for; we are going to sell them at 50 cents. A large assortraent of fancy novolties in stripes and mixtures entirely i;ew in color and design, very fine and all wool, these also go into our 50 cent bargains. Gilberfs Sateens are guarantocd not to fade in the sun, wear or washing. We have an immense line of these in the plain, black and colored Brocades, Ondine, Satin Stripes, Satin Striped Challies, India Keps, etc, prices 11 cents to 35 cents, Ginhams, IMnted Muslin, Satin Glorias, in the newest spring tyles, We have also placed on sale this week a new line of over 500 pieces Hamburg Suisse Cambric and Nainsook Embroidery. The designs this spring are very pretty and you cannot fail to be pleased with them. M & SÉlll.
