The water in the Hurón river has been very high this week. About nine o'clock last night a large section of the Argo mili dam gave way. This is the dam formerly known as the Sinclair mili dam. The water first undermined the dam, foroing a great hole in the dam, the earth afterwards caving in. Every effort was made to save the dam without avail. The break is eighty 'eet long and will eompel the milis to close down until it is repaired. It will be necessary to wait until the volumn of water is lowered. The damage has not yet been estimated but it will prove large.
