Some of the difficulties with which the average housekeeper struggles in securing necessary assistance in her household are, the introduction into her family of different nationalities, religious and political views; the restlessness with which the class is imbued; the unskilled labor which compels every home to be a training school. The advantages to the employsd are high wages, with no capital invested; healthy,occupation; the externals of a home, freedom some time during the week, and knowl edge and training in household affairs. The disadvantages are chiefly in the little opportunity for advance ment, dependence, and social position.
