J. Backus has returned from the east. Boni, to Mr. and Airs. John Hall, a son. The Dexter feed mili is now in running order. Mrs. T. Ball was an Ann Arbor visitor, Monday. T. Agin was in Pinckney on business last Friday. Henry Phelps was a Chelsea caller last Friday. C. Cobb was with friends in Putnam, VVednesday. Clarence McComb is the guest of friends in Toledo. Mr. A. Taylor and daughter spent Monday in Jackson. O. Moore and G. Higgins visited Ann Arbor, Tuesday. Mr. Calkins and son were Ann Arbor visitors last week. G. Lutzer entertained his brother from Lodi last week. T. Stanton and family entertained relatives over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. C. Alley were with Lima friends, Sunday. The Dexter creamery are putting down a new drive well. Chas. Stebbins took in the sights at Ann Arbor, Monday. V. Reason, of Pinckney, made us a short cali on Monday. Frank Smith, of Pinckney, made us a short cali, Tuesday. W. Canfield, of Sylvan, made us a pleasant cali, Thursday. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. M. Robins a daughter, April 8, 1893. Ed Eves made a business trip to Ypsilanti, Monday morning. Mrs. F. Sigler and daughters, of Pinckney visited here, Friday. P. McCabe,of Ann Arbor, visited his parents one day last week. Clarence Carpenter and family are living on the Stevens farm. Miss Rose Lavey, of Jackson, spent Sunday with her parents. Messrs. A. Dancer and L. Alley were at the county seat, Friday. Miss McGuinness, of Ann Arbor, spent Sunday wifh her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Dinkhel, of Marión, lave moved on the Crumb farm. Mrs. Story and family will move nto one of the company's houses. Mr. and Mrs. H. Knope and baby were Pinckney visitors, Thursday. Mrs. John Pratt, sr., has been entertaining her friend from Ohio. Mr. Bell and family, of Genesee county, are now residents of Birkett. Frank Potter, of Detroit, spent several days of the past week here. H. Harris and sons, of South Putnam, spent Sunday with his sister. It is said Mr. Haussan and family, of Marión, will move on the Dubois farm. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Green spent Sunday with their daughter at Hamburg. Mrs. L. E. Tubbs and son visited her daughter in Ann Arbor the past week. Mr. and Mrs. John Gallagher entertained relatives one day the past week. Miss Ida Stevens, of Stockbridge, was the guest of friends here last week. P. Seper is making extensive improvements on his residence on ]!. street. T. Birkett has several men employed working on the dam in the village. Lester Palmer, of Howell, is about to move back to his old home in the village. Dell Litchfield is very sick at this writing, with but little hopes of recovery. Messrs. R. Mercer and J.Bennett, of Pettysville, were with friends, Friday. Mr. II. W. Newkirk has returned home after a few day's visit at Luther. Geo. Bell and family have taken up their abode in the village of Dexter. Mr. Campbell and family have moved into the old Weller house in Hudson. Mr. and Mrs. O. Vaughn and son spent Sunday with his parents in Webster. Messrs. Chas. Neeb and George Spiegelberg were in Ann Arbor, Tuesday. Edgar Goodwin, of Ann Arbor, spent part of the week with his best girl here. Miss Minnie Green has been the guest of friends at Jackson the past few days. T. James and James Gallagher were Ann Arbor visitors the last of the week. Miss Jessie Robbins is spending a few weeks with her grandparents in Ypsilanti. Mr. Stager, of Chelsea, made a flying trip through these parts last Thursday. Mrs. Pratt has gone to her home in St. Louis, after spending the winter here. Mrs. Schoen and son, of Freedom, spent Saturday and Sunday with her son here. Wm. Crossley, of Stockbridge, has been spending a few days with his sister here. Mrs. H. Carpenter and daughter entertained a number of theirfriends last Wednesday. P. Sloan and Miss T. Croarkin with a number of their friends visited Ann Arbor, Friday. Mrs. Wm. Carpenter son and daughter, Miss Gertie, spent Sunday in Ann Arbor. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Litchfield, of Detroit, are spending a few days with their parents. Mrs. H. Warren and daughter, Miss Cora, were with relatives at Dansville recently. Mrs. Wm. Curlett and children and lady friend visited relatives in Pinckney on Wednesday. Miss Verónica Sweetman has returned home after several days stay with her sister in Marión. The Ladies Aid Society of the Baptist church, met with Miss Mattie Palmer. Wednesday afternoon. H. Ball is no longer connected with the livery firm of Phelps & Ball, having sold his interest to Mr. Phelps. Mrs. T. Benedict and daughter, May, of Webster, are spending a few days with her many friends in this place. John Twamley, an old and much respected resident of North Lake, died Sunday, April 2, 1893, at the age of 84 years. James Story and Miss Fanny Bell were married, Wednesday evening, April 5, 1893. Rev. Humphreys, of Pinckney, performed the ceremony.
