Messrs. A. S. Barue3 & Co., (New York), have in press a book entitled "Looking Within; theMisleadingTendencies of 'Looking Backward'"made Manifest." As its title suggests, it is a reply to the suggestive plans in "Looking Backward" for a revolution in present social and goveramental methods and ideas. The book is w-ritten in the form of a novel, a complete narrativo of absorbing interest formingthe principal artery through which its various characters expound and enlarge their ideas on the labor question, governmental control, etc. Exciting episodes of new and startling phases retain the reader's interest to the end, and the imagination is given f uil play, amidst scènes and events happening in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The book will be ready about May 15.
