Surprised Their Host

Chicago, 111., May 7. - Sixteen members of the city council of Marquette, Mich., topether with the recorder and press representatives, who have been g-uests of Mayor Kaufman at the world's fair for a week presented their host with a fine chair at the Riehelieu hotel Saturday. The chair is oí carved roaewood, richly decorated with tapestry, and bears a silver píate on whieh are Mayor Kaufman's name, the date and the ñames of the councilmen. The Marquette party left for home in its special, car at 8 o'clock Saturday night.
