ISHPKSUNG, May 8. - The Norrie mine at Ironwood, the largest iron ore producer in the world, whieh shipped 1,100,000 tons last year, has laid off the night shift. The men work week and week about. The large ore firm is declining1 the figures offered for Besscmer ore by western furnaces, and unless prices per ton are advaneed several large producers will follow the example of the Colby mines and close altogether. Mine owners are unanimous in saying they cannot produce ore for the prices offered.
