One of Ann Arbor's enthusiastic amateur gardeners, who would get as mad as a hornet, and rightly too, should any one suggest to him that he didn't know beans, has had a Jractical illustration of the fact :orced upon him this spring. A :ew days since he bought a lot of Lima beans, and together with the jalance of his family, air agreed that it would be a capital nice thing to raise som?, they liked them so well. The next morning our a. g. took some of the beans and planted them. As they did not come up on time he commenced an investigation and found out that the beans had been evaporated. If this gentleman succeeds in raising a good variety of the evaporated article, it is thought hat a fortune awaits him. - Ann Arbor Courier. We shrewdly suspect and on excellent ground that the amateur ardener referred to in the above tem is George H. Pond.
