Last Friday, Dr. Herdman, accompanied by Dr. Breakey and Supt. Clark, took the senior medical class on the annual trip to the insane asylum at Pontiac. The company went in a special car, arriving at ii a. m. They were met by Colonel Burr, Medical Superintendent, in his usual genial manner, giving all a hearty welcome, and each feit that a truly good time was in store for them. The greater part of the afternoon was spent in the auditorium, where Dr. Burr conducted an " insane clinic," which was an object lesson productive of more knowledge to the listeners than hours of hard study from text-books. He took up the different forms of insanity, and during the lecture brought in dozens of these unfortunate people to Il├║strate the different types. The doctor is a clear, forcible and entertaining speaker, and shows himself thoroughly conversant with the subject of insanity.
