Dr. Harpcr visiteo Detroit tuis week. J. Foster, of Chelsea, is in Milan this week. Miss M. A. Palmer visited Toledo, Friday. G. Backman has opened a barber shop on River street. Mumps have struck Milan. There are several cases here. Mrs. E. A. Reynolds, of Detroit, visited here this week. Mrs. Marsh, of Ypsilanti, visited old friends here last week. Chas. Sill and family, of Detroit, will move to Milan in a few days. Miss J. Warren, of Detroit, is the guest of Mrs. F. Allen, this week. The fire department was out in drill the other evening, in full force. Rev. J. O. Heek and wife are visiting Rome Center for a few days. Several of the Milan people leave fnr thp Columbian Exposition next month. Wm. Hoyt, of Saline, is doing some fine painting on J. C. Rouse's on County street. Mrs. Whitmarsh and daughter, Imo, returned Tuesday from a visit to Detroit friends. Commencement exercises of the Milan high school will be held at the opera house June 15. The M. E. ladies took in $8.48 at the tea social at Mrs. Vincent's. All had an enjoyable time, Several of the Milan boys took a ride to Detroit on their wheels, Sunday, returning on the cars in the afternoon. Decoration Day was observed 'here in an interesting manner, with a fine address, recitation, rausic and flowers. The day was a fine one and there was a very large audience in attendance.
