Farmers are busy planting corn and potatoes. Some sheep have already been sheared, but in general sheep shearing has not yet commenced. Daniel Sutherland is said to be rapidly improving in health and his ultÃmate reeovery seems to be assured. Fruit promises a fair erop, with the exception of apples, which bloomed out very uneven, some trees having no blossoms at all and others but few. Pittsfield Union Sunday school is held every Sabbath afternoon in the Roberts school house at 3:30 p. m., with an average attendance of about 100. Deacon William Canfield is superintendent. Isaac Farnill died at his residence in this township on Sunday. He lacked three days of completing his 78th year. He had been a resident of Pittsfield for about half a century and was one of those pioneers who made the wilderness blossom likei the rose.
