Mines Shut Down

Negaunee, June 23. - The largestiron mines in the Lake Superior district, the Korrie, East Norrie and Pabst at Ironwood, elosed down Thursday night, discharging 800 men. Present indications are that two-thirds of the mines in the district will be idle by July 1. Ishpeming, June 27. - Superintendent Frank P. Mills has received orders to close down iron mines here June 30. Over 1,000 men will be thrown out of work.
