Tom James is camping at the lakes. Alf. Davis and wife spent Sunday at the lakes. Mr. P. Reid, of Ann Arbor, spent Sunday here. Mr. and Mrs. Heininger spent Sunday here. Wra, Judson, of Chelsea, was here on Saturday. Miss Eva Hill has gone abroad for a few weeks. Mr. Erwin and family visited in Jackson last week. N. Reid and brother spent Saturday in Ann Arbor. Wm. Clark was in Pinckney on business, Saturday. Fred. Alley and wife made us a short cali on Sunday. E. Ferris spent several days the past week in Jackson. Tom Stackable visited his sister in Hamburg on Sunday. P. Farnham, of Pinckney, was here on business Friday. Mrs. Dudley and Mrs. Hall visited friends here on Tuesday. Charles Schoen and family entertained friends on Sunday. Mrs. D. Dixon has gone on a visit to √ľak Grove, Illinois. Ed. Campbell and family were at the lakes one day last week. Will Curlett and gentleman friend spent Saturday in Pinckney. Mrs. Charles Carpenter entertained relatives the past week. Mrs. T. McComb is entertaining her granddaughter from Ohio. Mr, Gallagher, of Hamburg, visited relatives here last Friday. J. McDonald and family have moved from Delhi to our village. James Gallagher spent the first of the week with his brother here. Mrs. R. Smith, of Mason, is the juest of her motherand family. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jewell entertained her parents on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. James Honey are at the White City for a few days. Miss Samantha Spooner has gone to Chicago to spend the summer. C. Lavey shook hands with his many friends in Chelsea, Friday. T. McComb and F. Nordman were in Pinckney on business, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. N. Ballou and family entertained friends over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Austin visited relatives in Salem the first of the week. B. Hopkins and son made a business trip to Pinckney on Saturday. Geo. Page, accompanied by his grandson, has gone on a western trip. Mr. Brown and friend, of East Putnam, visited friends here, Friday. Mrs. G. Stockford and daughter Ola have been at Jackson for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. F. Carpenter and children spent Sunday with her parents. Andrew Reid and wife, of Silver Lake, spent Sunday with his brother here. Mr. Miles has returned home after several weeks' stay in New York. H. Calkins has gone on a pleasure trip through the northern part of the state. Mr. Wm. Singleton, of Stockbridge, visited at A. Taylor's on Sunday. Quite a number of our village people are having a tussle with the measles. Wm. Gregory and wife visited with friends in Webster the first of the week. Miss Bessie Daley has been engaged to teach in the Milan schools next year. John Reid and wife, of Auburn, N. Y., are visiting his brother and sister here. Miss M. Daley is spending her vacation with her grandmother in Hamburg. Miss Lizzie Deckert has gone to spend the summer with her brother at Owosso. Miss Gertie Carpenter is spending a few weeks with her aunts in Ann Arbor. Mr. Robbins and family have been entertaining relatives from Ypsilanti the past week. Mr. and Mrs. J. Pratt, sr. , entertained their daughter from Grand Rapids last week. L. D. Alley and family have been entertaining friends from New York the past few days. Mrs. E. Alley and Miss M. Carr are visiting relatives at Hastings and Eaton Rapids. Miss Blanche Cushman has returned home, after a month's sojourn in Illinois and Wisconsin. The farmers have just about finished their hay harvest and some have begun to harvest their wheat.
