The fifteenth annual farmers' picnic of the countiesof Washtenaw. Wayne, Oakland and Livingston will be held on the fair grounds in this city, Wednesday, August 16. This year the farmers of Monroe and Jackson are included in the invitation. The speaker of the day will be Gen. James B. Weaver, the last people's party candidate for president and the well known greenbacker, George A. Peters, of Scio, who has been busy for some time in getting up the programme was in the city Tuesday and reports that he has secured excursión trains from Toledo and Howell to Ann Arbor for one fare for the round trip and hopes to make arrangements with the Michigan Central for excursions from Detroit and Jackson. Mr. Peters is now engaged in getting up a procession at one o'clock in which he expects to have a brass band, the fire department and city officials, the military companies, the Maccabees and citizens in carriages and on foot. The programme at the grounds will include music, an introductory speech by Mayor Thompson, the address by Gen. Weaver md impromptu speeches.
