Mr. O'Sullivan, the well-known New York City criminal lawyer while in Detroit, Monday, in speaking of Dr. VaUghan, said: "He gave expert testimony in the Buchanan poisoning case, in which we appeared, and it was of such a thoroughly scientific character as to astonish everybody. Prof. Vaughan is the foremost chemist of this continent. He is better known in Germany today than he is in America, and far better known and appreciated in New York than in Michigan. It is a pretty state of things that we have to come from New York and hunt through the woods here, so to speak, when we want the services of a first-class chemist, and one whose deductions can be demonstrated and relied upon as absolutely correct."
