An important chvorce case, involving considerable property interests, was begun in the circuit court last Friday. The parties reside in the township of York. The plaintiff is Mrs. Julia S. Wheeler, who asks the divorce from her husband, Paul H. Wheeler. The were ried in Chicago, June 9, 1863. I In the thirty years of their marriec life, over twenty of which was spen in this county, they had eight chil dren, seven of whom are now living Those of age are Charles Wheeler Mrs. Libbie Dexter, Park H Wheeler, Mrs. Lola J. McMichae and Miss Minnie M. Wheeler. Pau H. Wheeler, jr. , is 19 years old and the youngest, Dollie E., is thirteen years old. Mrs. Wheeler, in herbill, charge extreme cruelty during the past two years, during which time he has for bidden the four oldest children who are away from the homestead to visi her and that when she visited her oldest son last December he forbid her returning home, that at one time he refused to speak to her for several weeks and that he had called her vile names. She values her husband's 120 acres of land at over $5,000 and his personal property at over $3,000. She asks for alimony, the guardianship of the youngest child and an injunction preventing him from disposing of the property pending the suit. A a temporary injunction has been issued. A further coraplication in the case arises from a mortgage of #4,000 given Mrs. Betsey Robinson on the real estáte in 1872. Mrs. Robinson died April 14, 1892. Mrs. Wheeler claims that she had taken care of ïer for some years previous to her death and that before her death, VIrs. Robinson promised to assign he mortgage to her, and executed a )aper which she supposed to be an assignment of the mortgage, which hen amounted to $2,600, but which hrough a mistake of the person drawing the instrument, proved to e a discharge of the mortgage. Mrs. Wheeler asks that the court decree that this amount be paid her n addition to suitable alimony. Thompson, Harriman & Thompson re her attorneys.
