Charles Bell has purchased a new horse. B. Hopkins was a Chelsea visitor on Saturday. J. Lee and J. Reider spent Sunday at the lakes. Burt Carpenter visited in Ann Arbor last week. T. Stanton was in Stockbridge on business, Friday. Mrs. Thurber, of Webster, visited here on Monday. James Smith and family are camping at Base Lake. Miss Gertie Palmer, of Howell, is visiting her aunt. Mrs. Lavey and son visited in Putnam on Sunday. Will Taylor entertained friends the first of the week. J. Barry, of Detroit, is visiting his sister in this place. Miss Mary Lee spent Friday with her Ann Arbor friends. Thomas Murray was a Stockbridge visitor last Friday. O. Nordman was the guest of Lima friends over Sunday. Mrs. C. Jewell spent Thursday with her parents in Dexter. There were no services at St. James' church last Sunday. E. Croarkin and wife have returned from the White City. Mr. Wiltze and family are soon to become residents of Albion. Mrs. Kirkland visited friends in Chelsea the last of the week. Charles Andrews, of Ann Arbor, was here on business, Friday. Mrs. John Hall has been entertaining her aunt from Illinois. Mrs. Pearce entertained ner brother several days of last week. Dr. Honey and wife spent Sunday with J. Gallagher and wife. Mr. Smith and lady friend visited in Chelsea the last of the week. G. Jedele and E. Buss, of Scio, were here on business, Monday. Mrs. H. C. Gregory was the guest of friends in Ann Arbor, Friday. Mr. Glenn, of North Lake, made us a pleasant visit last Thursday. Mrs. Barber visited her daughter n Hamburg the first of the week. T. McComb and tamily enterained friends from abroad, Friday. Mr. and Mrs. E. Stanton have Deen at the lakes the past few days. Miss Kate McCabe has been entertaining her cousin from Ypsilanti. Mr. and Mrs. Luick, of Lima, spent Sunday with her sister here. The chicken and pig thieves are doing some good work in this vicinity. Mrs. J. Stanton and son and daughter were Chelsea visitois, Friday. Will Story has been entertaining his friend from abroad the past few days. Miss Myrta Taylor entertained her friend several days the past week. L. Flintoft was the guest of his parents in Pettysville the last of the week. Mrs. E. H. Carpenter enjoyed a visit from some of her friends last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. J. Parsons and son spent Sunday with her parents in Webster. Frank Erwin was the guest of friends in Ingham county the last of the week. J. Parsons and daughter, of Jackson, visited his brother here, the past week. Miss Ella Brogan, of MariĆ³n, is the guest of her cousins, the Misses Ledwedge. Mrs. M. Hoey and children, of Chicago, are visiting her brother for a few days. Mr. Marshall, of Unadilla, spent several days, the past week, with relatives here. Miss Eva Allen, after several weeks' stay with her parents, has turned to Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Flintoft, of Northfield, visited daughter, Mrs. A. Taylor, the first of the week. Miss Carrie Taylor, accompanied by a lady friend, visited in Lyndon on Wednesday. Paul Schoen has returned to his home in Detroit, after several weeks' stay with his brother. Mrs. B. Williams has been enjoying a visit from her brother and family, from Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. G. Lutzer had the pleasure of entertaining a numberoi their friends last Thursday. Messrs. E. Eves, W. Ballou, R. Erwin and Wm. Carpenter spent the last of the week in Stockbridge. Mrs. William Stevens has returned home, after several months' stay with her daughters in California anc Texas. T. Birkett is erecting a fine monument in memory of his wife; also Mrs. Evans is erecting one in memory of her husband.
