South Haven. Aug. 30. - This vicinity is suffering undef the withering iaflnence of the inost destructive drouth ever known in this regiĆ³n, Much of the corn herealxiuts is past help. The early varietiea of peaches were fairly eood, but the late ones are being badly injured. Many farmers are also obliged to haul -water for their stock. Wells and springs that were never knovm to fail before are now completely dried tip. Many pastures are withered and scorched until not a green spear is left ann stock has to be fed at the barn.
