Another cbange has been made in the affahs of the insolvent Hegister Publishing Co., during the. past week. On Saturday last a petition was liled by Louis J. Leisemer, Edwin A. Wells and Wiliïed B. Phillips, which stated that tliey were creditors oí the Register Publishing Company tothe aniount of $100 f or work and labor and asked that a receiver be appointed that the business might be continued and its good will preserved. ïhey also asked that the receiver be empowcred to borrow $1,000 to purchase materials, pay for labor, etc. On Saturday evening the various contesting parties met with Judge Kinne on Mr. Lawrence's office. On motion of the attorneys of various parties and with the consent of the assignee, John W. Bennett, an order of the court was issued appointing Wilfred B. Phillips, receiver of the company. with power to continue the business. Assignee Bennett was ordered to turn over the property in his hands to the receiver on Mr. Phillips' filing a bond of $2,000 and also to file his final account, to be heard October 9, when the receiver was to pay over to him the amount found due him, out of the first moneys coming into the receiver's hands. The receiver was also empowered to borrow a.sum of money not exceeding $300. Mr. Phillips filed his bond, Tuesday.
