Wants A Receiver
Laxsing, Oct. 5. - Attorney General Ellis will apply to the circuit court for Wexford couuty for the appointinent of a receiver to wind up the affairs of the Michigan Mutual Livestock Insurance corupany of Cadillac. Insurance Commis8ioner Giddings recently investigated the affairs of the company and found the following f acts, which are admitted by the secretary: Cash on hand, nothing; on assess ment made for February, March am April, 50 per cent unpaid; assessmen for June, July and August, 65 per een tmpaid; assessment for August anc September, 80 per cent unpaid; note practically worthless, 1,924.80. Seve nnpaid loases due Jan. 1, and aggrega ing $1,060; resisted claims to the amoun of 51.292, and other claims, making total of 2,490, constitute most of it liabilities. This is the second Michigan mutual livestock insurance company which has gone to the wall within th year.
