BELLEVTLLE, Oct. 10.- A young man named Corwin, who is employed by John M. Shaclielton, owner of the Belleville gristmills, met with a very painftil accident at this place. He was drawing cornstalks from Mr. Shackelton's farm in the town of Cantón. At a bridge over a washout at the Red mili the Ioa4 tipped and Corwin feil to the water, a distance of 20 feet, where he struck on some floodwood, breaking one rib loóse from the laackbone and fracturing the skull at the base of the brain. ïtecovery is very doubtful.
