An unknown man died in the open air about half a mile this side of Geddesburg Saturday last, alone and unaided. There was nothing about his person to indícate who he was, though he was dressed and looked like a tramp. He was a man of about fifty with light long hair, was of medium heighth. His pockets contained no letters or writing or money, nothing but an old handleless razor, an old pipe, a small bit of old meat, and a little salt and pepper. He was seen lying near the track of the Central road by Freight-conductor Wheeler, Saturday morning. He slowed the train, turned him over, noticed that he was frothing at the mouth, but was compelled to leave him as his train had only two minutes to reach Geddesburg in order to get out of the way of another train. He notified the people at Geddes but they were unable to find the man. He returned on the afternoon train and saw the man still lying there. The Central authorities in this city were notified and tliey sent for Coroner Clark, placing a locomotive at his disposal. The man was brought to this city and Dr. Clark summoned, who pronounced that the man yhad been dead for some time. There were no marks of any violence on his person. The coroner's jury decided that his death was caused by exposure.
