Dow Draper, son of Gideon Draper of Summit, was shot and instantly killed near. Clinton, Lenawee county, Friday evening by Geo. S. Conger, a farmer living near that village. After shooting Draper, Conger went to a workshop near by and put a bullet into his own brain. The Congers gave a eucher party that evening. Conger had been drinking heavily but he appeared to be in his usual mood. After the party he went out to the workshod and came back to the side door of the kitchen and began to cali for someone inside. Draper finally went to the door when Conger raised a shot gun and fired, the charge striking Draper in the heart. He then returned to the workshop and shot himself with a revolver. Mrs. Conger, who isonly 25 years of age, says she is of the opinión that her husband intended the shot for her instead of Draper. The I couple were married ten years ago and did not live happily together. She said: "George had a good deal o property. This farm, which wa ieft to him by his grandfather, wa worth $15,000 at least. Mrs. Conger says that Conge and Draper were good friends. In fact, that very day Draper had been transacting business for the forme at Adrián.
