1 he California Opera Company under the management of Messrs. Saunders, Henderson and Hall, are playing a week's engagement of opera repetoire at the Grand Opera House. The company is a strong one and has been having good houses. Miss Josephine Stanton, formerly with the Lillian Russell company, sings soprano as leading lady. She possesses a clear, well trained voice and a good stage presence. Miss Rita Harrington and Miss Adele Barker are excellent contraltos. Mr. Davies, the tenor, has a very sweet, clear voice. while Messrs. Saunders and Henderson are clever comedians and good singers. The chorus is good, and on the whole the company gives a first class entertainment, especially when the admission price, which is 15, 25 and 35 ets., is taken into consideration.
