Ludington, Dec. 5.- The Developtnent company has for sume daye paet been maturing a plan to start a canning factory on their lands within the city limita. A Mr. Sourwein of Baltimore has been hero niaking prices and terms on different sized plants io the company, and the board of direeters have become so far convinced of the value of such an enterprise that they have appointed Messers Dunham and Wratten. two of their members, a special committee to yisit other canning institutions in this state and examine methods of carrying on the brak CHá - lie proposed plan is for tho uvelopment couipany to build the plant and opérate it, baying fruits and vegetable to can from those wlio settle upon the oonapany's lands, uutil all they have to sell has been used, and then to buy their further supplies from farmers who live within easy reach of the factory. The farmers, gardeners and fruit raiserg in the county promise abundant aid to snch an enterprise.
