The most prominent of those engaged in tliis line of Itrade is that of The J. T. Jacobs Co., vvho can justly claim ad van tages possessed by no other house in this portion of the state. They occupy coinmodious quorters at 27-29 South Main street, in which is carried the largest stock in Washtenaw count)'. Their saleroom is one of the best equipped and by far the best lighted in this line in the city. The stock carried embraces everything included in clothing and furnishing goods. They handleall kinds of clothing from the lowest priced goods to thefinest. and can suit all tastes and puraes. This houae dates its foundation iron 1868. ïhey buy in large quantities thus obtaining bottotn figures and m selling pursue the one price systera which gives them advantages possessed by few retai] liouses, and enables them them to keep right to the front with all the newest and nobbiest styles in the market. They carry a very large line of hats and caps, all styles and prices, while their stock of valises is particularly fine. These gentlemen are thoroughly versed in all that pertains to the snccessful conduct of their business, and by inaintainiag the high-standard in goods and the exercise of strict integrity in all their dealings they have won the confidence of the public and established a very extensive trade.
