The Register may be found freely commenting on its editorial brethern. The reason for this is not hard to find. The reputed ownerof that journal who is now running it is striving to divert the public's attention from the peculiar transactions b'y which he obtained control of the Register. Oblivion as to his own past is what he seeks. He has adopted a plan to obtain it, perhaf s. Edward C. Morrisey, the newly appointed postmaster at Jackson, has been confirmed by the senate. The editor of the Grass Lake News, who is well acquainted with Jackson public men says: "Mr. Morrisey is a gentleman by instinct, the soul of courtesy and whatever he does he does honestly and well. He will discharge the duties of his new position to the satisfaction of the people ofJackson and the surrounding community."
