Murder at Grand Rapids.

John Wanderhem Shot and Instantly Killed John Eikman.

Grand Rapids, Dec. 25.--John G. Wanderhem Saturday night shot and instantly killed John Eikman and then hunted up a friend and went to the police station and gave himself up.

Wanderhem is about 35 years old and has a young and pretty wife with whom Eikman became enamored. Eikman made frequent visits to teh house, and finally became pressing in his attention, but Mrs. Wanderhem would have nothing to do with him. Saturday afternoon Eikman called, and declared he would return at night and kill the woman and her husband. He called about 7 o'clock and found the front door and forced an entrance. Wanderhem had his double-barrelled shotgun ready and fired when his wife urged him to do so. Eikman was armed with a double barrelled shotgun and apparently was bent on murder.
