Prof. Evan Essery spent part of his vacation attending the state teachevs' association, held at Lansing. Miss Sophia Schmid, of Ann Aibor, has peen visiting her sister, Mrs. II. Kirchhofer, and brother, 2i. Schmid. Miss Libiie Eugel, of Ypsiianti, and sister Emma, of Brooklyn, came home to snend New Year's with their parents. School opened Tuesday morning with a good attendance, several more are expected to enter during the week. Mrs. X. H. Wells went to Detroit last Satiuday to visit her daughter, Mrs. Frank Morey, returning home Tuesday. The Ladies' Relief Corps and Cornstock Post installed their offlcers for the ensuing year last Tuesday evening after which they served refreshments and had a social time.
