His wife had left him on account of bad treatiuent and returned to her father's house. Wagoner appeared there Monday morning and demanded that she return to him or he would kill.her. She refused, and he raised his shotgun to his shonlder and fired. the load striking her in the head, killing her instantly. He then threateried to kill any person who attempted to detain him, seying he was determined to die rather than to be arrested. as he knew he wdnld be lynchéd. Intense excitement prevaila aud officers have gone from here to arrest him.
