Egypt's Monuments

Recent discoveries in Egypt and Chaldea indícate tbat, although the inonuments there carry us back abont 5,000 years befoie the Christian era, they do not constitute the limit of our sources of history. They indícate the origin of these people to have been in western Persia. Kurdistan and Luristan show more ancient remain's than have been studied in any part of the world. The old Babylonian civilization and Chinese civilization both come probably trom this región, and it niay yet yield us knowledge of times far earlier than any tbat we know of.
