Dr. Messic is ill with la grippe. The skating is good on the Saline river. Mr. Eldredge is in Adrián on business tliis week. Guy Coe will leave for St. Louis, Mo.. this week. Mrs. A. D. Jackson visited Detroit the first of the week. There is great enthusiasrn over the revival meetings in Milan. Mrs. II. Sil] and Miss Alma Sill visited Saline friends, Saturday. W. Robertson has npeued a picture frame factory on Biver street. Mis. Turner and Mrs. Eldredge visited Dundee friends Tuesday. The ice gatherers are preparing their houses for a winter's stock of ice. Mr. and Mrs. Ransom House, oí Saline, visited Milan friends, Sunday. The Georgia minstrels didu't draw a very f uil house Saturday evening. Mrs. Geo. R. Williams entertained I guests from Stony Creek, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Guy entertained anumberof guests Monday evening. The W. R. C. and the Lucius Taylor Post installyd ofBceis on Wednesday evening. Friday, Mrs. LaTour, of Detroit, gave instruction to tlie Mooreville and Milan L. O. T. M. Rev. E. SeVerance, of South Lyon, preached at the Baptist church, Sunday morning and evening. The Presbyterian church observed thé week of prayer and will hold the prayer meetings this week. Mrs. Smith, an evangelist of Columbas, Ohio. will conduct the meetings at the M. E. church this week. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Whitehead. of Detroit, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Whitehead, for a few days. Mrs. Eldredge is entertaining her I mother. Mrs. Turner, and brother Grant Turner, from Quincy, Mich. The Milan "roads are very muddy but tbat doesn't prevent a fine turn out to the evening revival meetings. Editor A. B. Smith attended Susan B. Anthony's lecture at University Hall at Ann Arboa, Saturday evening. The Baptist tea social was well attended at Mrs. Putman 's resiilence on Main street, Wednesday afternoon. O. A. Kelley is preparing to build a doublé store, as he has purchased the lot of Mr. Vescelius next to his old store on West Main stveet. The L. O. T. M. installed oflicers on Wednesday evening, and a line lanquet closed the evening's entertainment. Mrs LaTour, of Detroit, was in attendance. Jack the Peeper is about Milan and vicinity. Someüne pepper wafted on the jentle breeze in chjse proximity to Jack's eyes might be the means of makii'g a sniewíer and better man of him.
