Chicago, .lan. 15. - In spite of the claim minie by the officials of the health department that there is lutely uo dangrr of a general epid of smallpox it is evident that the nuinber of cases is steadily inereasingj. There are now seventy-five cases in the isolatioa hospital and the newcasesreported are not confined to any u locality, luit are scattered all over the city. Nineteen new cases were reported yesterday, shonying a large increase in the daily average.
