An Old Minister Dead

Grand Haven, Mieh..' Jan. 24. - Rev. L. M. S. Smith, an old resident ot' this city, died Tuesday. He was born in New York state in 1808 and moved to this city in 1848 and was the first postmaster at this place. In 1863 he edited the Grand Haven Union, which ■ was one of the first papers published in western Michigan. He was a prominent Presbyterian and f ormerly "pastor in this and other places.
