"I was out iu Milwaukeo the other day," said a business man, "and, after I had done wbat I went there to do, I looked up a friend and he took me out to S'iow me the town. We walked around on all the principal streets, and he pointed out to me the big buildings and all that sort of thing. Finaily we reached a dovsntown corner and ray friend took up his stand there. "I didn't know what. he was up to. but I dutifully stood beside him and we talkect of all sorts of things for half an hour or so. Just as I was beginning- to g-et very tired he nudged me and pointed out a very ordinary lookinfr man who was walking siowly towards us " "That's him!' he said. in great eKcitement. - "I expected to see tiie president or somebody equalh' g'reat, and I looked in the directioa indicated. I saw nobody but the ordinary-lookiaj man before mentioned. " 'I knew if we stood here long enoug-li we'd see him,' continued my friend. 'Tliat's him, sure enoug-h. ' '" 'That's who,' I asked. " 'VVhy,' heanswered, 'that's Charles H. Harris.' " 'And who, in blazes, is Charles H. Harris?' "I shall never forg-et the look of utter contempt that my friend cast on me. He drew hiinself up to his f uil heig-ht and answered in a tone that made me feel vury small indeed: 'Why, he's the man who wrote 'After the Ball.' "
