Last Night's Reception
The reception given last evening by Ann Arbor Commandery No. 13, Knights Templar, to Rev. and Mrs. M. M. Goodwin, of Ypsilanti, was a most brilliant affair. The attendance must have been over four hundred, one hundred and fifteen coming up on the special Ypsilanti motor and returning at one o'clock this morning. The large and 'elegant rooms of the commandery were filled so that but very little floor space was vacant. Rev. Mr. Goodwin and wife, and the large reception committee were kept busy for a fu 11 hour shaking hands with the great assemblage of guests. The Sir Knights were in uniform the ladies dresses were elegant, while the gentlemen who were not Knights appeared in f uil dress. It was an elegant reception and every arrangement was perfectly carried out. Rev. M. M. Goodwin is a thirtythird degree mason. At present he is pastor of St. Luke's church, Ypsilanti, and has been selected for the appointment of chaplain in the navy. He is a man of fine physique, a genial companionable man, who has made host of friends while in Ypsilanti. After the hand shaking was over a grand march was played for the banquet room, where elegant refreshments were served. The reception was one of the finest ever held in the county.
