A Grand Organ
One of the most liberal offers which the University of Michigan ïas ever had comes from the manuacturers of the famous organ which delighted thousands of visitors to he World's Fair. For the sum of $15,000 the organ which originally cost $30,000 can be secured. The organ was manufactured by Farrand & Votey, of Detroit, who naturally feel pride in their own tate. Chicago university would ïave secured this prize if they had ïad room for it. This ne of the five largest organs of the country and the largest in any educational nstitute in the world. For the benefit of our readers we give a short description of this grand organ as follows: The case occupies a space of 38 ft. in height, 25 ft. in depth, 34 ft. in width. The patent electric key action is used in the manuals so that the key board might 3e in a separate room or even in a eparate building and the organ proper in University hall. Elecnc action is used throughout, which causes the key to respond to the lightest touch. The bellows are ampie and the wind is furnished by :our electric motors.
