The Congvegational society will novv build a new cEurcfa next summer. Rev. Walter Elliott will preach at St. Mary's church uext SundM5T evening. J3usiness has been cl uil since the goiug broke up and prices on nearly everything declined. D. B. Taylor was in Bay City the iirst of the week attending the Grand L,odge of the A. O. ü. V. G. W. Maroney has the contract to put up C. J. Chandler & Co '3 warehouse and chiclien ranch. Dr. H. A. Curtís has been holding forth at the town hall this week with Japanese cure-all remedies. The Rev. Ij. N. Moon will preach" next Sunday night on the subject: "Alter Death, Where?" Purgatory or intermedíate state. The free seat offering for the M. E. church last Friday night was well attended and a pleasant occasion and realized $110 for Rev. L. Is'. Moon. The ladies' county missionary society of the Baptist church will hold a conveiition at the Baptist church in this village on ïhursday of this week. Henry Fianklin, of Sylvan Center, was in this village on Frklay night the !)th of this month, in a state of iutoxicatioD, and has not been heard of since. It is uncertain whether he undertook to go home and got lost and froze to death, or went away and has not reported his whereabouti. He was a single man abouc 45 years old, and respected by bis neighbors. He had only the one unfortunate habit of takintr too much drink occasionally.
