One of the most persistent picces Of ! incendiarism ever perpetrated in this communlty became successful Sunday morning. On Friday morning fire was discovered in the John Gallagher barn on River st., but was extinguished before any damage was done. Saturday morning there was a eoincidence in the faet that fire" broke out again ;it about the same hour and again it was put out. The third and last time was about 2 o'clock yesterday morning, but it was not a case of three times and out - it was three times and burned. V.'hile there have been numerous fires in the city during the past six months that can be traced to incendiarism beyor.d a peradventure and all of them in the Pourth and Fifth wards of Ihe city. none have equaled the latest attempt. In this case the parties were seen and there are two of them. Charles Hyzer, of the Electric Light Co., having witnessed their departure from the scène of their crime. Mr. Hyzer being alone and unarmed instead of following them and running himself in (langer of being encountered by desperate men hastened up town to inform the night watchman. No description was secured of the men they being at some distance. Mr. Gallagher is at present residing in Quincy, 111.. and his property was uninsured.
