Paid The Mortgage
Sagixaw, March ?. -At a meeting of the board of directora of the Woman'a Hospital ausociation Mrs. H. A. Forrest, president of the association, annonnced that the 53,000 mortgage which bas worried the members so long had been paid by Wellington R. Burt, leaving thein practicallyout of debt. The women have made several attempts to lift the mortgage, but have progressed slowly. One of the events of the season was the reception and banquet given by them last week. They managed at that time by theprofitsand Eubscriptions to raise 1,000. Mr. Burt eaid then that if enongh subscriptions ■were taken he would give $500, but the gift of 3,000 shows the interest and generosity of a public-spiriíed citizen.
