A remarkable sight to be seen froiu a balloon is the bottoru of lakes and ponds. Whila over Lake Erie Cari E. Myers, the ballooniat, .says he saw clearly a wreck lying ttuder 75 l'eet of water. It was tbat of a schooner, simk 40 years ago. At a height of half a nulo the enlire bottom of a small lake or poud can be clearly seeu, antl Mr. Myers believep tlrat 011 a clear day an aerouant of goed visión conld see from a height of a mile submaiine objects at a depth of 400 or 500 feét beneatli the water.
