Alpena, April 5.- The wummond line steainer State of Michigan on her return froia Mackinae island went aground on Kenosha reef, off North uoiiit, Thunder bay, at 3 o'clock Wednesday morning. The lifesaving crew from Alpena, the tuga Frank W. and Kalph from that port. and the Grunimond tug Crueader went to her relief. She was taken off about 4 o'clock and pursued lier way to Detroit. She was favored while on the reef by a chance of wind, and no seas running at that spot. although there was a hard gale blowing. S. B. (ti-ulqmond, .ir., one ot' lier owners, was a passenger on the steamer. The crew of the Bunken steamer William H. 13arnnin were als'o mi board.
