Mr, and Mrs. Kurfess recteived word tliat tlieir daughter Mary, who livea near Port IIuvoii, was dangerously ill witli typhoid fever, They went to the place and Mrs. Kurfess will stay uatil she is better. Joe. Vogelbacher who for some time ïas been very sick. died last Monday aiortiiiiir. The funeral was held Tuurslay at Uie Emantie! cliurch. and was argely attended. He was i member oí' the'German Workingmen's society, and leaves i wife and three children kesides a lavge number of friends to mourn his loss. Miss'Lena Neiss is visiting' her sister Mrs. George Wurster. Miss Julia Schoettle speiit a few days at Jackson visiting Mrs. Bachman. Miss Katy Grossman, of Jackson, is visiting hef parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. ïrossman. Miss Julia Martin went to Saline Wednesday to attend the wedding of her friend. Miss O. Rogers. Herbert Eeed, of Brooklyn, has been visiting her raother a few days tuis week. N. Schruid and son spent Saturday at Cold water. Mrs. Farrell and daughters drove to Tecumseh last Saturday.
