Lansinc+, April 13. - Governor Rich has issued the followiĆ¼g Arbor day proel atuatiou: In eompliance wifch au honored custom and with public sentiment, I hereby designate Ftiday, April 27, 181)4, as Arbor day. The proper observanci; uf this day in the planting of trees, shrubs and flowers will result in benutifyiug and adorning our homes and highways and is most earnestly recommended. Tp include a love of the beautiful in nature should be a pleasant duty for the teachers in our public schools and it is f urther recommended that the exercises in our schools upon that day be of such a character as will impress its beneticent object upon the minds of the pupils.
