Miss Ona Clark, is entertaining guests trom out ot' town. Mrs. C. M. Fuller visited Ann Arbor ?riday. Mr. and Mrg. Chas. Pullen are enteraining guests trom Ronuilus. Misses Danna and Mollie Dexter are entertaining guests from Ypsilanti. Mr J. Bernap and wife are enteraining guests from abroad. The Odd Fellows are preparing the ground for there new building on W. Main street. Mr. J. T. Powers preached at the Jnion church Sunday morning and evening to a f uil house. Kev. J. Swindt, of the Presbyterian church delivered the first of a series of ectures on Komanism, Sunday evenng. The lecture was scholarly and nteresting. Mumps have arrived in Milan greatly to the chagrín of the inhabitants. Mr. C. M. Fuller is teaching school n the Leas district. The Presbyterians can ring their chuieli bell. It has been out of repair and was put in working order last week. The Daughters of Rebecca will hold .heir Tea Social at tlie residence of vlrs. E!. Ilinkley on Connty street, i'hursday afternoon and evening. Mr. and Mis. J. C. Rouse are visiting riends in Saline. I). W. Ilitchcock & ('o., have a new hosphate house on Wabash street. Mrs. Lucy Clark and danghter. Mrs. TBarnes and Imogene Knight, visted Detroit, Monday. Mr. W. II. Trussell, of Belding,were lie guests of their son and family, Ir. and Mrs. Frank Trussell last week. Mrs Preston and Miss Midland, who ïave been visiting Milan friends, left 'or Grand Haven last week. Mr. T. iBarnes, wife and son, of Jundee, spent Sunday with Milan riends. Rev. J. O. Hicks, of Tecumseh, gave lis Milan friends a cali last week. The street sprinkler has started out gain this spring with W. P. Lamkin, s captain of the craft. Mrs. Grace Butler and son, of Deoit, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Abarles Wilson for a few weeks. Mr. A. S. Ilayden is making a fine ine of brick, and tile, bis plant enablng him to produce 2-5,000 bricks per ay. líev. J. Ward Stone, of the Baptist churcli, delivered a very interesting lecture Sunday eveiiing. Subject. "(neen Esther.'' Mrs. G. R. Williams returned Tuesay from a weeks sojourn with relatives in Ami Arbor. Mrs. 8111, Mrs. Harper and Mrs. Whitmarsh are on the sick list. Dogs in Milán are getting dangerous. Mis. Younglove was quite badly bitten on the arm and her clothing torn last Saturday, while walking on west Main street. Mr. Carlos Allen, who lives near Milan, was quite badly hurt íd the back of the head and lowerpart of the spine and thigh by a premature explosión of giant powder while blasting stumps last Thursday afternoon. He was knocked down, his hat was blown f rom his head 20 feet and his clothing was badly torn. Ile narrowly escaped death. At present he is quite comíortable as no bones were broken.
