Refen-iu;,' to Senator Allison's opposition to froe wool and the proposed reduction in the duties on woolen goods, the Savaunah News (Dem. ) says: "Why is it that congressrnen are not sincere in dealing with great public questions? Senator Allison knows that his constituents favor duties thatwill enablethem to tray clothing at lower prices, and unless his views have undergone a great chaaige in recent years he is also in favor of snch duties. He upholds the high protective System of his party, however, and he do&s so because he lacks th courage of bis convictions. "
