Mis. Jane Townsend has been sick d uring the past week. Chicken pox is being passed around among the little ones. S. J. Johnson and wife, of Carleton, visited bis parents here over Sunday. Mrs. Switz and children, of Ann Arbor, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. -J. Meyer. Ransom Townsend is getting quite extensively into the chieken business. lie has nearly 150 Brown Leghorn chicks. James Bush has a hen that laid last wek a very peculiar egg. It resenrMed some people we meet- a soft shell b the outside, a hard one beneath it, A heavy stick of timber dropped on Freeman Shuart's foot while he was at work on the framework of A. Covert's barn, Monday, and that meinber is therefore laid up for repairs. Mr. W. H. Vinn, of Detroit, an excellent speaker, is to address a public meeting at the Dixboro M. E. ehurch Friday evening, May 18, in behalf of the Epworth league. A short program of music and speaking will also be interspersed. Everybody invited. No admission fee- no collection.
