Manchester. J. Waters went to Ann Arbor last Tuesday on business. F. M. Freeman spent Saturday at Bridgewater. Mr. Walker, of Ann Arbor, who for the past week has been clerking at the Banner store, retnrned home. Messrs. Jenter and Schaible went to Jackson last Tuesday, in response to a telegram stating the severe illnessof Mr. Lehman, who died Wednesday. Miss Lizzie Burns visited friends in town the first of the week. Miss Grace Smith spent Saturday with her parents at Saline. Last Sunday afternoon a Junior League was organized at the Lutheran church. Sinee the last Sunday the weather has beeu rather cool. Mrs Fred Kurfess, who for the past four weeks has been taking care of her daughter near Port Huron, returned home. Mr. and Mrs. W. Arnold and daughter, Lena, spent Sunday visiting relativas in town. Mr. Ed. Kirchgessner and sister, Libble, spent Sunday in town. Bert Waite who for the past three months attended the business college at Grand Rapids, returned home last Wednesday. Mrs. Walter C. Mack and son, returned to Ann Arbor last Tuesday. Monday and Tuesday a special sale was given on jackets, capes, cloaks, etc, Mr. Tuomey, of Ann Arbor, a clerk at Mack & Schmid's had charge of the same. The forty Jiour devotion was held at St. Mary's church. beginning Sunday and closing Tuesday. Mis. H.Cash and children,of Brooklyn, spent the lirst of the week visiting her mother, Mts. J. Kelley. Miss Anna Kramer, of Ypsilanti who has been spending a two weeks' vacation with her parents returned on Tuésday. Our laundryman, D. E. Barrett, met with a painful accident last Thursday. The gasoline stove exploded burning his face and hands. The boys and older men enjoy a a game of baseball nearly every pleasant day.
